I would like to share w YOU... ONE of the MANY things one of my dear sister and I have in common ... It is our LOVE for MUSIC and the therapy it gives to our hearts and our head... Music clears the cobwebs and gets us refocused on our purpose. A few lyrics in a song perks us up, inspires us, grounds us, and even sometimes delivers us.
Yep – I believe our hearts are “hungry” for music –like our bellies are “hungry” for food. I need music in my life. Music is like a multi vitamin to me. When ya get a lyric in your head - it’s likeall of a sudden your soul is fed.... you with me?
In fact...my friend and I were walking today and she brought up a particular song that we sing at church and she mentioned how these 2 verses kept rotating in her mind over and over and how soothing they were to her soul-how they brought so much comfort to her.... We also talked about how a powerful song will come back to your memory at just the time when you need to draw strength from the lyrics. How music to us is really like another form of scripture… or Liquid Drano (unplugging out clogged arteries). We talked about how there are certain songs we just belt out loud -wherever we may be- and our kids and strangers may think we are a bit loony… but we smile and keep singing repeatedly-til it cements into our being. Yep - we loveeeee our music.... and what it does for us. :) There is so much power in music my friends.... It infuses new life back into you.
I can not tell you how many times I have heard a song in church and felt the power of the holy spirit totally fill me up. I literally feel tingling from the top of my head down to my toes. In fact…sometimes I am soooo in the moment (w my eyes closed) and someone will come up and tap me on the shoulder and I think “God?” ha… either that ... or I think “Sweet –thanks for waking me up.... I was about to pass out” In a good “letting go of stuff passing out kind of way” … experience that? Oh yeah... This is how one of my soul sisters describes it…
"it's like I can really melt right into the lyrics and melody and feel it through my whole soul. I don't know how many times, I really should have a bunch of tissues with me….cause the words just fill me up and push all the junk out!"
Listen to a favorite song YOU sing at church or you OR hear on the radio and let the lyrics melody soak into your weak bones… Get at it – next step... Own those lyrics… repeat them over and over –like my sistah and I do… til they become part of your being and you can pull them out when you need a perk me up. I would love to hear from you - if you want to share "the song" that just does it for you.
My friends.... I believe our father brings certain lyrics back to our memory when we need to be reminded of His Love.
He IS THAT GoOD. ;)-
